'Another 40' - Taking Discipleship To Another Level

Being a disciple of Christ is one of the most important aspects of being a Christian. But the obvious question is, how do you do that?

Perhaps we should start with what its not. It cannot be done in isolation. You cannot be a disciple and go it alone. You cannot be a disciple by watching youtube and not attending church.

It is clear from Jesus teaching that we are made and meant for fellowship. We are not to forsake the gathering of Gods people, that we are to walk with one another in faith.

That means firstly that we gather as Gods family, the church and that discipleship happens under sound biblical teaching.

I would like to invite you to join us for ‘Another 40’ - our Sanctuary Chapel disciples group.

It does not matter if you are a brand new Christian.

It does not matter if you have been a Christian all your life.

It does not matter if you have questions or doubts.

It does not matter if you are still seeking.

All we ask is that you come. That you bring what you have. That you are teachable.

Then we can explore faith in Christ Jesus together. To dive deeper into scripture. To grow stronger in our faith and to be richer in relationship with God and with each other.

40 is such a significant number in scripture. 40 days and 40 nights, 40 years in the desert, 40 days Jesus is temped in the desert.

40 represents a time of testing and teaching and trial. Our group is just ‘Another 40’ - as we enter into a significant period of training and testing.
